    Hi, I'm Mash.

    I'm based in Perth. I spent nearly 20 years in wholesale and FMCG operations: running ERP projects, untangling workflows, and building the systems people use every day to get orders out the door.

    That's where I got hooked on automation, and it shapes how I build agentic systems now. The interesting part is rarely the model. It's everything around it: the tools, the memory, the approvals, and the moments where a person needs to step in.

    Today I'm an AI Specialist at Interfuze, and my own company, Directive Systems, builds AI software. I also help organise PerthAI, and I teach whenever I get the chance.

    How I work

    I start with the workflow, not the tool. What comes in, what gets checked, where a person decides, and what has to be auditable. Agents earn their place when they take friction out without turning the work into a black box.

    The loop I keep coming back to is simple: find real friction, build something small that works, keep what survives, and teach the pattern.

    The clearest example is an AI-native back office I built for a WA wholesale distributor: 34 workflows and 44 scheduled jobs running at about 99.7% reliability. Read the field report.

    Outside of that

    I run Rollin Records, a bass music label that doubles as my testbed for agent-run publishing. It keeps me honest about taste and about actually shipping.
